More grip. Clearer spaces.

Imperial offers waterborne and cold applied plastic (CAP) anti-slip floor coatings for suitable surfaces across Brisbane and South East Queensland. A textured coloured finish can help define pedestrian routes, work areas and shared spaces.

We look at the surface, traffic, exposure and cleaning requirements before recommending a system. The coating and texture are selected together for the intended use.

Two coating options

The system starts with your site

01 / Waterborne

Waterborne anti-slip coatings

A water-based coating with a specified textured finish. An option to discuss for coloured pedestrian areas, walkways and surface refreshes where the product suits the substrate and traffic.

  • Coloured floor areas
  • Pedestrian route definition
  • Existing-surface refreshes

02 / Cold applied plastic

CAP anti-slip coatings

A cold applied plastic surfacing system for projects requiring a hard-wearing textured finish. We assess the product, aggregate and application requirements against the expected use.

  • Areas exposed to greater wear
  • Textured coloured surfacing
  • Site-specific system selection

Where a textured coating can help

  • Pedestrian walkways and designated walking routes.
  • Entries, access paths and shared areas on private sites.
  • Colour-coded zones around warehouses and commercial premises.
  • Ramps and other areas needing a site-specific slip-resistance assessment.

We confirm suitability for indoor or outdoor use, pedestrian or vehicle traffic, and the existing surface before quoting. Line marking can be included to finish the layout.

Preparation is part of the job

Tell us about existing paint, sealers, moisture, oil contamination or damaged areas. These affect adhesion and may require cleaning, mechanical preparation or repairs before coating.

Your quote sets out the agreed preparation, coating system, area and access arrangements. Drying and curing times depend on the selected product and conditions, so reopening is confirmed for your job.

Your questions, answered

Which is better: waterborne or CAP?

The right choice depends on the surface, wear, exposure, budget and required finish. We assess those factors rather than specify one product for every floor.

Does anti-slip mean the surface cannot become slippery?

No. Water, oil, dirt, wear and cleaning all affect how a surface performs. We discuss the required texture and any project-specific testing; no slip rating is promised without evidence for the selected system and application.

Can you coat an existing painted floor?

Possibly, after checking the old coating and compatibility. Loose paint, contamination or unsuitable sealers may need removal before the new system can be applied.

Can you add line marking at the same time?

Yes. We can quote coloured areas with walkway lines, hatching, symbols or other markings as part of the same agreed scope.

What do you need for a quote?

Send your suburb, approximate square metres, photos, how the area is used and any access restrictions. Include any specified slip rating or testing requirement so it can be considered before pricing.
