What we mark

Line marking for the places people park, walk and load

Whether it is a 12-bay strata car park that has faded out or a distribution centre floor that needs walkways before an audit, the work is the same: measure it properly, prep it properly, and lay a line that holds its edge.

Car park line marking

Bays, aisles, arrows and hatching set out to AS/NZS 2890.1, so the layout works for the vehicles that actually use it — not just on paper.

  • Bay set-out & re-marking
  • Accessible bays to AS/NZS 2890.6

How a job runs

Four steps from first call to cones off

01

Site visit & measure

I walk the site, measure it up, check falls and drainage, and work out what will actually fit once turning circles are allowed for.

02

Set-out & fixed quote

You get the layout marked up and a fixed price in writing. Anything that won't comply gets flagged before you pay for it.

03

Prep & mark

Surface swept and dry, chalk lines pulled, then sprayed with a Graco LineLazer 130HS for a clean, consistent edge.

04

Cure & hand back

Cones stay in place until the marking is ready for the intended traffic, based on the product and conditions. Site swept, cones pulled, invoice sent.

Done to the standard

Bay widths are not a matter of opinion

A car park that is marked to the wrong dimensions costs you twice — once to paint it, and again when a tenant, a certifier or a body corporate makes you redo it. Every set-out starts from the Australian Standards, then gets adjusted for the columns, kerbs and turning circles that are actually on your site.

If your layout will not comply, you hear about it at the quote stage, not after the paint is down.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked on site

How much does car park line marking cost?

Every job is priced on the number of bays, the condition of the surface and how much of the layout has to be set out from scratch. Re-marking over existing lines is the cheapest option because the set-out already exists. A brand-new layout costs more, since the measuring and marking out is where the hours go. You get a fixed price in writing after the site visit — no hourly rate, no surprises on the invoice.

How long before cars can drive on the new lines?

Reopening depends on the paint system, surface and weather. We confirm the curing window for your job and keep the work area closed until the coating is ready for the intended traffic.

Can you work after hours so we don't close the car park?

Yes. Most retail and medical car parks get marked at night or early on a Sunday so trading is never interrupted. Otherwise the job is staged in sections — half the car park stays open while the other half cures.

What's the difference between re-marking and a new set-out?

Re-marking follows lines that are already there and only needs the surface swept and dry. A new set-out means measuring the area, working out bay and aisle dimensions to AS/NZS 2890.1, chalking it up and getting it signed off before any paint goes down.

Do you supply wheel stops, bollards and signs?

Yes — wheel stops, bollards, accessible bay signage and speed humps can be supplied and installed with the marking, so it's one contractor and one invoice instead of three.

How often should car park lines be re-marked?

Two to four years for a typical car park. Heavy traffic, harsh sun and pressure cleaning all shorten it. If bay lines are patchy enough that drivers are parking crooked, it's due.

Are you insured?

Yes — $20 million public liability cover is in place, and a certificate of currency can be emailed before work starts. SWMS and a traffic control plan are supplied for sites that need them.
