Common questions
How much does car park line marking cost?
Every job is priced on the number of bays, the condition of the surface and how much of the layout has to be set out from scratch. Re-marking over existing lines is the cheapest option because the set-out already exists. A brand-new layout costs more, since the measuring and marking out is where the hours go. You get a fixed price in writing after the site visit — no hourly rate, no surprises on the invoice.
How long before cars can drive on the new lines?
Waterborne line marking paint is touch dry in around 30 minutes and safe to drive on within the hour in normal Queensland conditions. Cold, damp or shaded areas take longer. Cones and tape stay in place until the paint is hard, and the site is handed back clean.
Can you work after hours so we don't close the car park?
Yes. Most retail and medical car parks get marked at night or early on a Sunday so trading is never interrupted. Otherwise the job is staged in sections — half the car park stays open while the other half cures.
What's the difference between re-marking and a new set-out?
Re-marking follows lines that are already there and only needs the surface swept and dry. A new set-out means measuring the area, working out bay and aisle dimensions to AS/NZS 2890.1, chalking it up and getting it signed off before any paint goes down.
Do you supply wheel stops, bollards and signs?
Yes — wheel stops, bollards, accessible bay signage and speed humps can be supplied and installed with the marking, so it's one contractor and one invoice instead of three.
How often should car park lines be re-marked?
Two to four years for a typical car park. Heavy traffic, harsh sun and pressure cleaning all shorten it. If bay lines are patchy enough that drivers are parking crooked, it's due.
Are you insured?
Yes — public liability cover is in place and a certificate of currency can be emailed before work starts. SWMS and a traffic control plan are supplied for sites that need them.
