Line marking on the Sunshine Coast

The coast runs on visitors, and a resort or retail car park that has faded out is the first thing they see. Sunshine Coast work is booked as a full day or a run of nights, so the trip north is worth making and your site is only closed once.

The coast run covers Caloundra and Kawana through Mooloolaba and Maroochydore, up to Coolum, Noosaville and Noosa Heads, and back inland through Buderim, Sippy Downs, Nambour and Yandina. Resort and retail car parks, warehouse floors, school and club sites, all set out to the standards your site is assessed against.

Worn marking costs more than looks. A faded car park loses usable spaces, muddles traffic flow and is the first impression a visitor gets of the place. A fresh set of lines fixes all three in a day.

Retail, resort and body corporate car parks

Shopping centres, holiday letting and resort basements, medical centres and body corporate car parks through Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Kawana Waters, Caloundra and Noosaville. Salt air and unbroken UV strip a car park faster on the coast than it does inland, so most sites here are on a shorter re-mark cycle than an equivalent car park in Brisbane. More on car park line marking.

Industrial estates and warehouse floors

Floor marking and hardstand for the estates at Kunda Park, Warana, Coolum and Yandina — pedestrian walkways, forklift lanes, racking outlines and hazard hatching for inductions and audits. More on warehouse floor marking.

Emergency vehicle bays, wheel stops and signage

Hatched emergency vehicle bays, accessible bays, wheel stops and parking signage supplied and installed on the same visit — there is a recent Sunshine Coast emergency vehicle bay in the work gallery, wheel stops and all.

Schools, clubs and community sites

Drop-off and kiss-and-go zones, staff and visitor parking, court markings and play-area games through Buderim, Sippy Downs, Nambour and Caloundra — booked for weekends or school holidays so there is no interruption to the site.

New builds and handover marking

Marking taken straight off the civil or architectural drawings for builders finishing a car park or estate road before handover, including accessible bays, shared areas, bollard and sign positions. Anything in the drawn layout that will not comply on the ground gets flagged at quote stage.

Layout changes and line removal

Where a car park is being re-configured rather than refreshed, redundant lines get ground back or blacked out before the new set-out goes down, so drivers are not reading two layouts at once. More on line removal.

Booking a trip north

Sunshine Coast jobs are quoted with travel built into the fixed price rather than added on the invoice. Where a site is small, it is usually worth timing it alongside other work in the area — ask when you call and you may get a better price for waiting a fortnight.

How a Sunshine Coast job runs

Four steps from first call to cones off

01

Site visit & measure

I walk the site, measure it up, check falls, clearances and access hours, and work out what will actually fit once turning circles are allowed for.

02

Set-out & fixed quote

You get the layout marked up and a fixed price in writing with travel included. Anything that won't comply gets flagged before you pay for it.

03

Prep & mark

Surface swept and dry, chalk lines pulled, then sprayed with a Graco LineLazer 130HS — run as a full day or a night shift so trading and check-ins keep going.

04

Cure & hand back

Cones stay in place until the marking is ready for the intended traffic, based on the product and conditions. Site swept, cones pulled, invoice sent.

Common questions

Line marking on the Sunshine Coast

Is there a travel charge to the Sunshine Coast?

No — travel is built into the fixed price rather than added to the invoice. Coast work is booked as a full day or a run of nights so the trip north is worth making, and smaller sites are best timed alongside other work in the area. Ask when you call and you may get a better price for waiting a fortnight.

How often do coastal car parks need re-marking?

Two to four years inland, and sooner on the coast. Salt air and unbroken UV strip a line faster here, and sites that get pressure cleaned regularly go sooner again. Most coast car parks sit on a shorter cycle than an equivalent car park in Brisbane.

Can you work overnight through the peak season?

Yes. Resort, retail and hospitality car parks are marked overnight or early on a Sunday so trading and check-ins are never interrupted. Otherwise the job is staged in sections — half the car park stays open while the other half cures.

Do you mark resort and holiday letting basements?

Basement marking can be quoted across Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and Noosa. Access, clearance, ventilation and curing requirements are assessed before booking.

What paint do you use on a warehouse floor?

Waterborne line marking paint suits most sealed floors and light traffic. Where a shed copes with constant forklift and pallet-jack traffic, epoxy or two-pack goes down instead — the product and preparation are selected to suit the floor and intended traffic.

Are you insured?

Yes — $20 million public liability cover is in place, and a certificate of currency can be emailed before work starts. SWMS and a traffic control plan are supplied for sites that need them.

Do you supply wheel stops and bay signage as well?

Yes — wheel stops, bollards, accessible bay signage and speed humps can be supplied and installed with the marking, so it's one contractor and one invoice instead of three.
